The overall Australian winner of the competition will be selected from the Australian division winners and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 Photographer of the Year"
Prize: Trophy, plus any Nikon product valued at up to $5,000 Sponsored by Nikon Australia

The second placed Australian entrant will receive:

Prize: EIZO ColorEdge CS2731 (valued at $2,000) Sponsored by EIZO Australia

The overall International winner of the competition will be selected from the International division winners and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 International Photographer of the Year"
Prize: Trophy, plus a 12 month membership to the Professional Photography Business Network (PPBN) valued at $497

Australian Division Winners

Australian division winners will be selected from the top Australian entries in the categories of each division and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 DIVISION NAME Photographer of the Year" (Where DIVSION NAME is the name of the division)
Prize: Trophy

International Division Winners

International Division winners will be selected from the top International entries in the categories of each division and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 International DIVISION NAME Photographer of the Year" (Where DIVSION NAME is the name of the division)

Category Winners

Australian Category winners will be selected from the top scoring entries in each category and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 CATEGORY NAME Photographer of the Year" (Where CATEGORY NAME is the name of the category)

International Category winners will be selected from the top scoring International entries in each category and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 International CATEGORY NAME Photographer of the Year" (Where CATEGORY NAME is the name of the category)

Student Winners

The Student Photographer of the Year will be selected from the top scoring entries by Australian student entrants and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 Student Photographer of the Year"

The International Student Photographer will be selected from the top scoring entries by International student entrants and will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 International Student Photographer of the Year"

Educator Award

The Education Institution with the highest aggregate score for their top 5 student entries will receive:

Title: "Australian Photographic Prize 2026 Educator of the Year"
Prize: Trophy

The Australian Photographic Prize is an annual all-embracing national Photography Competition for Australian and International amateur, professional and student photographers.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the unceded lands on which the Australian Photographic Prize does business. We pay our deep respect to the Ancestors and Elders of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong Peoples where our awards are conducted.
