Welcome to the Australian Photographic Prize
The Australian Photographic Prize (APP) is an initiative by Robyn Campbell and Karen Alsop. Combined they bring together over 45 years of experience in the professional photography industry and each is highly awarded.
With over $30,000 worth of prizes across the competitions, thanks to an extensive list of supporting sponsors, APP provides opportunities for everyone to gain recognition and receive valuable feedback.
Robyn and Karen previously served in various national and local committees within the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP). Following the unexpected closure of the 75 year professional body in late 2021, the industry experienced a significant loss. AIPP’s formerly annual Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA) folded concurrently. As a result, the powerhouse pair of Robyn and Karen decided to bring their unique skills together to facilitate a new, inclusive awards and conference project.

We warmly invite schools across the country to register to be part of this incredible opportunity to inspire and train young Photographers.
On Thursday the 8th of September, the first day of our 4 day Photography program, we offer schools the following:
- Students can enter their photography with a custom school discount code (25%) provided to your organsation upon registering free
- Your college will be provided a livestream link to view the LIVE school award feedback session from 1pm – 2pm on the 8th of September
- Your college has priority access to book in to view the School Award feedback sessions, the Nikon Digital Award Feedback sessions, the Village Cinematic Prize judging and the EIZO Photographic Artist award judging in person (City Edge – 426 Princes Hwy, Narre Warren) as a class excursion opportunity. There is no cost to attend, however limited spaces available so register early.
The Student Photographic Prize is separated into a Primary Division and Secondary Division. Students will win Vlogging/Lighting gear and a Trophy as first place winner. There are no limits on the number of entries. Students may enter individually.
